I was up all night studying for finals. Around 3:30 I stopped to just browse the Internet and got to thinking about adding a commenting feature to this site. I've wanted to for a long while, but never knew how. After some research I discovered that content management systems are too controlling and common (and costs), which are some of the reasons I decided to make my own site in the first place instead of using something such as LiveJournal. After searching through sites and about an hour of playing with PHP (I'm ignorant when it comes to PHP) I finally made a commenting system that works. I'll probably go in later and tweak it, make it look a little better. And yes, I did it all in Notepad, of course.

Dear Ladies,
Bad news.  I'm single again.  Yes, you are no longer free of the worry that I might form some sort of attraction to you.  I'm sorry.

                                                      Sincerely,
                                                         Brian

A new Zelda has been announced. You can view a video of it here. I haven't even played Wind Waker yet. I was very tempted to buy a GameCube when they had that special deal going a while back, though. It would be great to play the old Zelda games from the 80s again.

Back in 1998, my cousin Jeremy and I were counting down the days until Ocarina of Time. It was sure to be a gateway to our pasts; we would feel like kids again, like we did during late nights of NES play with sore thumbs. We ended up playing Ocarina a good bit. Many hours we invested into that game—not nearly as many as Goldeneye, mind you, but still a good plenty.

New San Andreas screens as well.

I've been up all night. Again. Today is my last day of finals. I have a two-parter at 8 (questions/hands-on) and then a hands-on to finish from 1-3. I've done well so far, but I'll be very glad when it's all over. My final grades will be in the A-B range. A week from now I'll have my diploma. A week after that I start right back with classes, ha. I'll be taking three classes, which they said is a lot for summer. I want to finish quickly, though, so I don't mind. Everything seems to be going as planned. I now have my ITN degree, I'll finish my general ed. requirements for Pfeiffer this Fall, and I'll start there in January. Maybe I'll finish with school before I'm thirty. (Twenty-five if we're being serious.) Indecision has been my master for too long.

Just for future reference, this is the first time I've updated publicly since April 4th. This is also the first entry with commenting enabled. I hope you guys comment from time to time, so people will think I actually have friends.

I dreamt Mr. Peanut was chasing me. We were in town. I was in a JFK-style convertible and he was flipping all around and even swinging and walking on the power lines, not unlike a crazy squirrel.

So I've gone a week without an entry. I have to try to update this thing regularly. I'm going to force myself to write at least every other day. I've just been very busy these past weeks. This semester is officially over, and summer has begun. It began, too. Oh, and graduation was today, but I didn't go.

Summer 2004:

  • 3 classes at Stanly
  • read a book a week
  • work on portfolio
  • finish independent Web projects
  • go to Myrtle Beach (?)
  • find Gary
  • sleep (something I didn't get to do this semester)
  • finish renaming the 2000 or so songs I have waiting in my download folder
  • fish at least once (something I haven't done in...two years, maybe)
  • research and apply for every scholarship I can find
  • take the CIW and A+ certification exams

That should keep me busy for the next three months. I'm going to study like a madman for those exams. I'd like to go for at least three of the CIW, and they range in price from $99-175. Wouldn't want to have to take any again.

Flight of the Navigator, one of my favorites as a kid, is finally being released on DVD. Also, Slaughterhouse-Five is being rereleased on DVD. I've never seen it, but I love the book, so $11 is fine by me. I don't use commas correctly.

idiot on AIM

Wow. First of all, Knot Master, your name is Knot Master. Secondly, your inquiries got me to thinking about it, and I realized that throughout my life I've only been called "Bri" by girls. It wasn't even until the age of 18 that anyone shortened my name, and that was by my first serious girlfriend. Sorry to hit you with irony. I wouldn't have even bothered to put this on my site (his attempt to anger me failed), but I just thought it was funny.

Happy Birthday, Mr. T!

Is Andy Kaufman really still alive?

This is his online journal: http://andykaufmanreturns.blogspot.com/

I want to believe it. It's not true, of course. But, good God, I wish it were. For good measure: the Snopes article.

This morning at seven o'clock I was exchanging jokes and discussing differing cultures with a friendly Australian. Around nine I began speaking with a lovely young lady in Ghana, a refugee from Liberia, about relationships. And right now I'm debating pens versus pencils with some crazy Canadian. The Internet is great.

I'm voting for this guy.

Sorry.

For the past year and a half I've taken nothing but classes related to computers. Now I'm taking art, history, and sociology. It's strange to be writing essays again. I turned in my first one the other day and I'm waiting for the verdict.
