Some of you asked why I dislike Valentine's day. It's not just the lovey-dovey, furry, squeaky, heart-shaped idiocy that abounds in convenient one-cent-below-the-dollar quantities; it's the fact that people buy it. I don't need a stupid holiday to let someone know I love them. I would never let that day be an excuse for treating someone especially well. If you really love someone, you treat them that way all the time. I'd rather buy my girl a card every day of the year except Valentine's Day. It's a shame the way Hallmark can buy and sell our emotions. All right, enough of that.
