Check out this ad that CBS refused to air during the Super Bowl. There are many others, which can be viewed at bushin30seconds.org.

I woke up at 3am Saturday and couldn't fall back to sleep. So, around 4 I started on the Web site I'm supposed to be doing for that lady. I worked until noon. Most of the layout is done, as well as the drop-down menu I had to do with JavaScript. I knew nothing about JavaScript, so I had to teach myself a little bit of it. I'm in the slow process of learning PHP and ASP, which is like a whole new world when compared to HTML. Anyway, I desperately need more pictures and info from her, or the site is going to be very stringy.

The old Tom and Jerry cartoons are perhaps my favorite. I was watching some of them a while back, and noticed something that bothered me. You may remember the black lady that sometimes owned the house in which Tom and Jerry lived. Well, they've replaced her old, stereotypical voice and its beautiful ebony phonetics with a more politically correct (unbelievable) version. I'm glad I still have a lot of the old ones on tape.

My brother's middle school team played their last game the other day. Their final record is 1-14. That's so sad that I don't even feel like laughing. Haha, yes I do.

They're making a frickin' Curious George movie. Why do they keep ruining all the good things from the past? Yes, I said frickin'.

Here are several links, some of which I've been meaning to post for the longest time:

Churchill's parrot
Do not live in a shaky house
Sidewalk drawings
This is fairly interesting

Only 60% of the songs have "hulk" in their name!
Hurrah?

The first Star Wars trilogy is finally going to be released on DVD. Of course, there's a catch. The special editions of the movies are the ones to be on the discs. I was angry at him for doing them over in the first place. I was also angry after each of the newest movies. And now this. George, I'm about ready to tear up my autographed Star Wars club membership paper thing. Actually, I think I lost that sometime around 1997. Maybe Jason stole it.

I've been lying to you all. I haven't even started My Name is Asher Lev. Other things have occupied my brain recently, including school work. I read a lot over the Christmas break, but that was stopped cold when the semester began. It's a shame, too, because I have a whole stack of books I want to read.

Valentine

This was done as a joke for a friend. I spent way too much time on it.

Some of you asked why I dislike Valentine's day. It's not just the lovey-dovey, furry, squeaky, heart-shaped idiocy that abounds in convenient one-cent-below-the-dollar quantities; it's the fact that people buy it. I don't need a stupid holiday to let someone know I love them. I would never let that day be an excuse for treating someone especially well. If you really love someone, you treat them that way all the time. I'd rather buy my girl a card every day of the year except Valentine's Day. It's a shame the way Hallmark can buy and sell our emotions. All right, enough of that.

You ask me for updates, yet I have nothing to say. So I'm just going to ramble like an idiot. So, what's the difference, right? Anyway, it was snowing this morning, but classes weren't cancelled. The Web site I'm building for that church is getting closer to being finished. I'm tutoring four people now, so my next check might be for more than $30. I wish that were a joke. I spoke on the phone to a girl the other day. Believe it. I have a dozen books I'd like to read. I don't know when I'm going to. I ordered a copy of Visual Studio .NET for $15.90. I got it through the college. It would have been around $600. There, update done.

My parents have been subscribed to Reader's Digest for the last 600 years. I never read them. But, I just noticed one that was on top of the television. I liked the picture on the back.

Today wasn't fun. I didn't get much sleep last night and I had to get up early and go to my 8 o'clock class. Jeff is sick and his voice is gone, so we didn't stay in there long. I'm glad, because I needed to write the last of my notes for my programming test. After that I had to tutor three people at once, which was strangely thrilling. It made me feel important. They listened to everything I had to say. I mean, really listened. It made me feel like a real teacher, and I liked that feeling.

All of that ended around 12:20, at which point I went to my 1 o'clock class to study a little bit more before the test. My five pages of notes and all the studying I did the night before did little good. This ASP stuff is difficult for me right now, which gives me an odd feeling. If I'd had more time in which to do the test (consisting of creating a small Web site with a lot of asp crap in it), I would have done better. Oh well.

I then had to tutor again at 3. Right now (10:08PM) I'm feeling very badly about other things that I'm not going to discuss.

I started reading Hocus Pocus yesterday. I like it so far. I know I'm supposed to be reading Asher Lev, but I'll get around to it. Kate's going to be mad at me.

So I found out earlier today that Nader is going to run again. Why? What good will it do, Ralph? I like your name, by the way. I've always liked Ralph. It also makes me think of Lord of the Flies. I should read that again. The movie wasn't that great. I remember it having adults on the island.

Remember several months ago when I said I wouldn't be looking for a female companion/girlfriend/significant other/whatever? That it would just have to happen? Well, I think it's happened.

I need a new hat.

When I started college I bought some school supplies. These supplies consisted of a pencil. As the last three and half years have trudged by, the paper, the staples, the highlighters, the paper clips, the floppy disks, the pens, and even the lead have come and gone. But, this pencil has stayed with me. He endured thousands of clicks, box after box of lead refills, and never once complained about sweaty hands. He doodled, he wrote, he scratched, he twirled. He has been put to rest now. He earned his wings.

Wednesday night I actually studied. I figured I should, seeing as Thursday's test was 17% of my final grade. I did well on it. I kept glancing out the window at the falling snow as I was taking the test. I was hoping the school would be closing soon (which it did) because I sure didn't feel like being there until five. It took ten minutes just to get off campus. I would have been out of there much sooner, but the campus cop was directing traffic at the school entrance. Anyway, I had time to think while I was participating in that slow, snowy parade. I remembered when I was little I went through a brief period in which I wanted to grow up to be Santa Claus. I thought it would be awesome to be able to make so many people happy. Plus, he had flying reindeer, elves, and all that jazz. I disagreed with some of his principles, though. He seemed to favor the rich. That dirty republican.

I think we got around eight inches here, although they're saying the average was fourteen inches for the area. Either way, that's a lot for Stanly County. My dad and brother built a quaint little snowman together. It was a Kodak Sony moment.

And finally, Jenn, a picture of the cat you gave me senior year. That's my brother holding her, by the way.

Check this out. And if you do, you should also look at these.
